About Me
Johnny Jrriftwood was born in the North Shore of Long Island. He has been to many coasts and has witnessed the beauty of what this world encompasses. Most of all, he was amazed at the simple beauties that exist right before our eyes.
In the summer of 2006, he met a man named Ray Powers. During that encounter, Ray showed Johnny a piece of Driftwood he found on the beach that July day.
At that moment, Johnny became inspired, enthralled, and was completely drawn in.
When Johnny collected his first piece of driftwood, he was amazed by the natural architecture. To him, Mother Nature bestowed her grace on driftwood when she offered it with so many different shapes, sizes, and forms.
The first piece he ever collected stared at him for hours. He added two birds, rocks, shells, and a boat. After that, it all made sense.
Driftwood is an art form. It offers so many things, and so many possibilities. Right down to its core, anybody can be mesmerized by driftwood.
Johnny, after exploring the possibilities, embarked on new adventures with driftwood by turning simple pieces into masterpieces with different themes. Joining two pieces together, forming a bond, was truly creative on his part. However, sometimes I discover a rare piece of driftwood that has so much natural character that I know I can not make it any more beautiful - and that piece will forever remain untouched, just the way I first saw it.
Johnny Jrriftwood is truly a Prince of the driftwood art, and I feel that “if it’s not Johnny Jrriftwood, than it’s just Driftwood”.
